How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’re thinking about therapy, that’s often a sign you’re ready to explore things more deeply alongside a trained professional. Therapy can be a lifeline in times of crisis, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or barely holding things together. It’s also a powerful space for growth, reflection, and change, even when life is more stable. You might come in because something urgent needs attention or because you’re ready to break old patterns and understand yourself more fully.
Either way, you don’t have to navigate it alone - we’re here to help.
What’s a psychological assessment and do I need one?
Psychological assessments are like putting together a puzzle - they help us put the pieces together to understand how you think, learn, feel, and function. People seek assessments for many reasons: ADHD, learning differences, mood concerns, diagnostic clarity, or just wanting a clearer picture of their mental health. We’ll guide you every step of the way.
What are your fees? Do you accept insurance?
For psychological assessments and psychotherapy, Dr. Sternberg and associates are in-network providers with Blue Shield of California, Optum, and Carelon.

For psychological assessment with all other insurances, fees vary based on tests. Please contact us for an estimate.
For psychotherapy with all other insurances:

-

For out-of-network clients for both psychological testing and psychotherapy, a superbill will be provided that you can file with your insurance for any applicable out-of-network benefits.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
We do! You just have to be in the state of California. Whether you’re in your cozy living room on a lunch break, virtual sessions make it easier to fit therapy into your life. All sessions are secure, HIPAA-compliant, and just as meaningful as in-person work. Contact us to see if you're a good clinical fit for telehealth.
